Email #30 - Up at the Ceiling

Meanwhile, back in the auditorium, here's what's happening up at the ceiling.

The painted plaster has been demo'ed on all four sides in the same way as shown here along the north wall. The sole purpose of this is to allow the construction of seismic shear walls all the way to roof. The central 'dome' of the ceiling won't be touched.

When finished, they'll restore the ceiling to it's original appearance. The lamps piled on the platform scaffolding (top photo) were removed from the perimeter ceiling before the demolition.
