Email #4 – Top Floor Gutted Here are three more recent photos taken on the top floor of Architecture Hall. The top view is looking south into the South Wing with only one skylight remaining on the right, where Studio Rm 224 used to be. That was Rick Mohler's Arch 501 studio last March. The middle photo was taken three days later on July 6, 2006. It shows the same space with that final piece of ceiling and skylight removed. This is the raw space and structure. What a pleasant surprise! The bottom photo is a rare view of the demolition in progress. Normally I'm not allowed in the building except at lunch hour and after work. But I caught this shot on July 6 just after Democon started up again after lunch. The view is looking north into the North Wing. The WMD machine destroying the ceiling is a cross between a bobcat and a unicorn. John Stamets |
