Email #88 - Progress in 2nd Floor Center

In the top photo attached, the view is looking west from the 2nd floor coffee seating area into the new exhibit area beyond the door. Note that the exposed brick wall in the exhibit area was half-covered with drywall when this photo was taken on March 30. On the ceiling in foreground is the opening to the new skylight that was opened up. Actually it's an old skylight re-opened.

The grand stairwells are still covered with platform scaffolding, left and right. Nevertheless, you can sense the new openness to this area. The steel in foreground are hand rails, not wall framing.

The bottom photo was taken last July 29 during demolition from a spot further away. For instance, the two columns (red in July) are just out of the frame in the top photo.
