CAUP students in the Furniture Studios are honored with awards from the Interior Designers of Idaho regional competition, as well as having some of their works published in a new book

The Interior Designers of Idaho host an annual regional design competition recognizing imagination and the creation of modern furniture design. This year's event was held at the Visual Arts Collective in Boise, Id. on April 19, 2008. The judges awarded seven prizes in several categories, as well as honorable mentions. The UW was represented by students that have taken the Furniture Studio during the last year. The following students won awards:

Gus Sincheimer - Best Student Design, Best Functional Design
Cami Cladouhos - Best Craftsmanship
Anisa Baldwin-Metzger - Honorable Mention
Brie Simmons - Honorable Mention
Casey Goodwin - Honorable Mention

Additionally, Lark Books has just published a new book, 500 Chairs. It celebrates traditional and innovative designs through diverse examples of modern seating. Five Architecture students have their work featured in this book. They all designed and fabricated their pieces in the 402/504 Furniture Studios, taught by Sr. Lecturer Andy Vanags. The students are:
