Magnolia Branch remodeled
Thursday March 2009The Magnolia Branch of the Seattle Public Library, an architectural landmark designed by Paul Hayden Kirk (1912-1995) (BArch ’37), reopened last July after a year-long $4.3 million expansion and renovation. CBE Affiliate Assistant Professor of Architecture David Strauss of Snyder Hartung Kane Strauss Architects was architect of the remodel. CBE Landscape Architecture Department founder and Professor Emeritus Rich Haag designed the landscape of the branch, which was restored to its original vision of enhancing the strong relationship between the landscape and the building.
