Connecting to the Webserver

The apache webserver on the server has a built in function that allows users to protect folders with a id/password.

Command Line/Terminal

  • At the command prompt type: yourusername@servername.caup.washington.edu
  • You will then be prompted to enter your password

Dreamweaver (MX 2004 and higher only - Mac & PC)

  • From the tool bar, select Site -> Manage Sites...
  • Select the site you wish to use and select edit.
  • Put the appropriate information into the FTP Host, Login and Password sections.
  • In the Remote Info make sure the "Use Secure FTP" option is checked.
