Free ESRI (ArcGIS) software for students in GIS courses
UW students enrolled in GIS courses may acquire ESRI software for use on personal computers on a one-year time out license. The software must be requested through a faculty member who is teaching a GIS course in which the student is enrolled. Please see

Free Autodesk modeling software for UW students / faculty / staff
Anyone with a UW email address (@u.washington.edu) may participate in Autodesk's new Student Engineering and Design Community program. Click here for a PDF flyer (383KB) describing the program. Along with much educational material, the following free software is available through the program on a one-year time out license:
- Autodesk Inventor Professional
- Autodesk Revit Building
- Autodesk Civil 3D
- Autodesk VIS
- Autodesk Raster Design

Low-cost Microsoft software for UW students / faculty / staff
Students, faculty, and staff at the UW may purchase a few Microsoft software titles at deep discounts through the University's partnership with eAcademy. The titles currently available are:

- Office Professional 2004 for Macintosh
