Featured Alumni Profile

Name: Justin McCaffree

Year: 2006

Description of Senior Project: I worked on Project 15/41, a project with 5 other CEP students to revitalize a portion of the UW campus and make it more inviting and welcoming to the surrounding community.

Favorite aspect of CEP: Getting to be a part of a really great community, while at the same time having the freedom to chart my own unique course. That and the drinking.

Most useful skill learned in CEP: CEP helped me to develop self-confidence and a willingness to try new things. CEP pushed me to do things that I can honestly say I was afraid to do, such as getting an internship, talking in front of large groups or volunteering at a homeles shelter. Looking back, I am lucky I got to do those things and am incredibly grateful to CEP for affording me so many challenging opportunities.

Description of Occupation: I work at EnviroIssues, a local consulting firm that specializes in community outreach and public involvement.

Projects that I have worked on include: the SR 520 Bridge Replacement project; Sound Transit Phase 2 Outreach, the Roads and Transit Hotline, Washington State K-12 Math Standards Revisions, the Sammamish Town Center project, and WSDOT Roadway Pricing.
