Faculty Biography
My research focuses on ways that urban planning can be used to improve environmental quality, growth management planning, planning for sustainable urban development, multicriteria evaluation methodologies, ways of assessing environmental justice, and sustainability indicators and their applications in urban planning. I am a founder and the chair of the International Urban Planning and Environment Association that organizes a series of international symposiums (UPE7--Bangkok in 2007); and sponsor the book series Urban Planning and Environment published by Ashgate, which I co-edit.
