Northwest Center for Livable Communities
UDP has initiated a Northwest Center for Livable Communities that will provide assistance to communities in managing growth, in economic revitalization, and in efforts to become more sustainable and livable. The Department has obtained seed money for the Center through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. We expect the Center to begin operations by summer 2003.

We envision the Center as the public service unit for the department, providing both faculty and students opportunities for community service through special studios, courses, internships.

The Center will provide the core outreach and service functions for the Department, animated by the same social, economic, and environmental values.
