Selected  Project Experience
 

Cedar River Watershed Education Center, Seattle Water Watersheds and Environmental Services, Cedar Falls, Washington:  Project Manager, Project Landscape Architect for Jones & Jones
Led the design team in design development and served as landscape architect from design through construction of a 4-acre educational campus and visitor facility.  Showcasing water, the Education Center features a series of courtyards, a constructed stream, a living roof, native plant communities, and the use of sustainable building practices and materials.

Rattlesnake Lake Recreation Area Park Design, Road Relocation and Landscape Restoration, Seattle Water Watersheds and Environmental Services, Cedar Falls, Washington:  Project Manager, Project Landscape Architect for Jones & Jones
Led the design team and oversaw construction of a 30-acre park, regional trail hub, and ecological restoration area.  The project features bioengineering and restoration of the riparian edge, a 2-mile road and parking with a stormwater-treatment wetland, construction of interpretive kiosks and signage, restoration of forest and meadow landscapes, and a new trail system.

Ebey’s Landing Cultural Landscape Survey and Conservation Planning, National Park Service, Ebey’s Landing National Historic Reserve, Whidbey Island, Washington:  Project Manager for Jones & Jones
Led the research and analysis team in documenting the degradation and integrity of cultural landscape features of a 17,000-acre historic reserve, and in developing a set of innovative land conservation tools and strategies for maintaining the Reserve’s working farms and forests.

Taylor Mountain Forest Master Plan, King County Park System, Hobart, Washington:  Project Manager for Jones & Jones
Led the analysis and preliminary master planning for a 1700-acre wildland park that integrates passive recreation, education, and restoration of water quality, fish and wildlife habitat while demonstrating the role of small-scale working forests in preserving rural open space.

Fort Vancouver Cultural Landscape Visitor Facility Plan, National Park Service, Fort Vancouver National Historic Site, Vancouver, Washington:  Project Manager for Jones & Jones
Conducted a charrette and led the cultural landscape planning team to develop reconstruction and interpretive plans that will connect the park to its 19th-century waterfront on the Columbia River and highlight the human story of diversity in the historic fort.

TimePlaces Heritage Plans and Signs , Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust,  Seattle, Washington, and City of Issaquah:  Project Manager, Project Landscape Architect for Jones & Jones
Conceived the “TimePlaces” concept for a regional Heritage Tour, worked with local historians to plan three interpretive sign series, assisted with funding grants, designed the sign supports and several sign panels, and developed a wayfinding brochure. The TimePlaces projects were given an ASLA Merit Award in Communication.
