RESEARCH
Professor Streatfield's current research examines the cultural values
used historically in place making in urban and rural landscapes.
This unfunded research focuses on several specific research areas:
Designed Regionalism in the work of Lockwood de Forest, Jr., a Santa Barbara, California landscape architect who practiced from 1921-1949.
The role of women in the garden as patrons, professional and amateur designers, gardeners, writers and historians, and conservers.
Italian urban design and public space.
The Italian villa and park.
