Roxanne Hamilton teaches in the BLA program. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Scripps College, her education certificate from the University of California at Los Angeles, and her MLA from the University of Washington. She has been practicing landscape design since 1976. She is licensed to fly. Roxanne's teaching interests from the design of restorative landscapes to cross-cultural design. Her long-term professional commitment has centered on the reconnection of people to their environment. Both professionally and through teaching she has worked with Northwest tribal communities as a designer/consultant for cultural center projects. Most recent teaching projects include a sustainable garden design studio and a "healing gardens" seminar. One of her most enjoyable teaching assignments is the Introduction to Landscape Architecture studio. Roxanne's design firm, Hamilterre, specializes in residential garden design.
