Sally Schauman has taught in both the BLA and MLA programs. She has a liberal arts degree from Duke University, a professional landscape architecture degree from North Carolina State University and a MS in Resource Management from the University of Michigan.

Sally is a registered landscape architect. She was a Loeb Fellow in Advanced Environmental Studies at Harvard University and is a fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects.

Sally retired in August 2000 from the University of Washington Department of Landscape Architecture after 21 years of dedicated service. Sally established the MLA Program and served as Chair of the Department for 12 years. Sally will be teaching as a Resident Scholar at Duke University in their Women's Studies Program.

Sally's retirement party was held Wednesday, August 23, 2000, in the Chinese Room of the Smith Tower. We'll miss Sally, but wish her well in her new role and know she will continue to be an ambassador for the Department and advocate of the profession.
