:: DEPARTMENT PREREQUISITES
Satisfactory completion of University of Washington general undergraduate
proficiency and areas of knowledge requirements are a prerequisite
for entry into the program. Undergraduate students currently enrolled
at the University may apply for admission to the department after
completion of two years of arts and science areas of knowledge
requirements with 75 credits in the specified prerequisites.
Students enrolled in the College of Architecture and Urban Planning
(CAUP), may take courses as pre-professional and major requirements
as part of the CAUP degree before being admitted as a BLA major.
Major status will normally be granted upon completion of 90 credits,
including most departmental and University
requirements listed below. The five year BLA program requires
completion of 225 credits.
Transfer students from other academic institutions must satisfy
University of Washington admission requirements and have completed
courses equivalent to departmental prerequisites. Students applying
to the program for a second bachelor's degree are assumed to have
completed the University areas
of knowledge and language skills, reasoning and writing in
context and quantitative
and symbolic reasoning requirements.
