OUR MISSION

The Department of Landscape Architecture offers two professional degree programs:

Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (BLA)

Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA)

These programs are fully accredited by the ASLA. We successfully integrate teaching, research, our professional skills, and knowledge from other disciplines to provide solutions to real-world problems. Our Students' site planning and design expertise is based on an intellectual and experiential understanding of human and natural systems, gained through an interdisciplinary approach to project-based learning.

The Department proactively engages with other programs within the University, our communities, and the larger metropolitan region through research and design. We are increasingly recognized for leadership in innovative teaching, research on emerging issues, and community-building service.

· Communications (graphic, written, verbal, and digital)

We graduate Students with:

· The ability to integrate knowledge, and social and ecological values, to evaluate and make choices
aawhich create opportunities and solve problems through physical design

· Creativity, flexibility, and the ability to accept ambiguity and manage complexity comfortably

· The ability to work in teams and with people from diverse backgrounds

· An understanding of the region and its global context

Our Students become innovative practitioners and leaders in both public service and private practice, creating positive change in our communities, region, and our world.
