Faculty in Landscape Architecture are offering Exploration Seminars this August, giving students
a chance to study in diverse cultures, places, and topics. Jeffrey
Hou will lead a seminar "Tokyo + Seoul: City, Streets and Hybrid Urbanism". Daniel
Winterbottom's group will be "Exploring the Use of Ecological Design in Emerging Estonian and Russian Urban Centers". Twenty-four students will have the opportunity to study Denmark's urban space and pedestrian / bicycle planning with the renowned Copenhagen firm of Gehl Associates. Students will explore Danish public space for two weeks in September in preparation for an Autumn '08 Scan l Design Master studio that will design pedestrian environments for downtown Seattle.
