The Northwest Center for Livable Communities seeks to promote awareness of how people's quality of life is connected to ecology, long-term economic vitality, affordable housing, social vibrancy, diverse transportation options, and a coherent and integrated built environment. The Center works towards incorporating livability issues into decisions concerning the shape, function, and potential of the built environment. To this end, the Center's programs focus on research, developing livability resources, cultivating community partnerships, organizing conferences, and lectures.
