Gail Dubrow
Gail Dubrow, who joined the CAUP faculty in 1989, earned her Ph.D. in Urban Planning from University of California Los Angeles. She teaches in the areas of Urban History, Planning History, and Historic Preservation. Her research is dedicated to making the history of women, ethnic communities of color, and other underrepresented groups publicly visible at historic sites and buildings. Her work has been supported by the American Institute of Architects/American Architectural Foundation, the American Association of University Women, the Graham Foundation, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the National Park Service, and the Woodrow Wilson Foundation, among others. She is the author, with Donna Graves, of Sento at Sixth and Main: Preserving Landmarks of Japanese American Heritage (Seattle Arts Commission, 2002) and the editor, with Jennifer Goodman, of Restoring Women's History through Historic Preservation (Baltimore: Johns Hopkins University Press, 2003). She is currently documenting sites associated with Cesar Chavez and the Farmworkers' Movement in cooperation with the National Park Service and completing a book on the history of Chinese tenant farmers on Whidbey Island, Washington. |
