Robert Holmes - THG, LLC

As a real estate advisor, Robert J. Holmes’ forward thinking and ability to bring disparate groups of people together have steered private companies to high levels of achievement and profitability. Not only has Holmes been part of successful startup corporations, but he also has guided a decades-old family company to renewed purpose and performance.

In 2004, Holmes served as President and Manager of Harbor Mountain Company, which he was instrumental in forming a few years prior. As President, Holmes oversaw all real estate investment and development strategies for the company’s resort properties, including Stevens Pass Ski Area and Schweitzer Mountain Resort. In addition, he oversaw disposition of the company’s Mission Ridge Ski Area. From 1996 to 2004, Holmes served as President and CEO of Harbor Properties, Inc., one of Seattle’s most established real estate companies. During his tenure at Harbor Properties, the company became a leader in mixed-use urban development.

For the 10 years prior to joining Harbor Properties, Holmes was President, CEO and then Chairman of Intrawest USA. He also served as an executive in the company’s Resort Development Group, where he focused on the company’s village real estate development, activities and resort acquisitions. Holmes has extensive redevelopment experience, having served as the head of two public agencies, the most recent being Executive Director of the Portland Development Commission.

Holmes received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Central Washington University and the University of California Los Angeles. In addition, Holmes has participated in executive leadership programs at the Stanford Business School, Harvard Business School, Xerox Corporation, Disney Institute, Pacific Institute and Mountain Institute.

He is a highly sought after speaker by real estate associations, as well as regional and national business organizations, and is a frequent guest lecturer at the University of Washington’s Runstand School of Real Estate. Holmes is active in many real estate associations, including the Urban Land Institute and National Association of Industrial and Office Properties.

In addition, Holmes has served as Chairman and Director of Seattle Housing Resources Group (a non-profit housing provider), Director of the Bellevue Downtown Association, Director of Tully’s Coffee Corporation, Director of the Historic Seattle Preservation and Development Authority and Executive Committee member of the Downtown Seattle Association. Currently Holmes serves as advisor to ScanlanKemperBard Companies, a real estate investment and merchant-banking firm.
