The VRC acquired over 9000 images during the year 2005-2006. The digital image database has 32,000 images accessible to faculty, staff, and students in the College!

In August 2006, the VRC was recarpeted! View of photoessay of the process, which involved packing up and moving most of the content of the room, temporary storage in the Landscape Studio on the third floor, and having the old orange carpet pulled up and removed.
After the carpet project was complete and the room was unpacked and retored to working order, the VRC was seismically retrofitted. The Neumade cabinets and other furniture were securely bolted to the walls, and to each other, to mitigate the effects of any earth movement in the Collection.
